Cure for HIV AIDS Finally Proven

Share

An HIV patient in Germany was first cured through what is so called stem cell therapy. Mr Timothy Brown, an American patient admitted in Berlin was the first one who was cured after he had undergone stem cell therapy in 2007.

Dr Gerald Belimac, the doctor who handled the case said that the procedure was very difficult and still under research and study. He also said that it takes the right person, the right donor and the right recipient for a stem cell transplant to be successful especially in dealing with HIV.

A small percent of Caucasians are genetically resistant to HIV, which is the main requirement to be a qualified donor. HIV have killed thousands of people around the world because of the unavailability medicines to cure the virus.
